Verse 100

IN THE INFERNAL COURT OF LAST APPEAL: The inhabitants bring suit against Earth for pain, decay, weather, gravity, bereavement, insects and miscellaneous horrors.

Verse 101

Earth pleads not guilty on the grounds that she never signed the user agreement either.

Verse 102

Exhibit A: teeth. The prosecution calls them evidence of malicious design. The defense calls them multipurpose mineralized tissue.

Verse 103

Exhibit B: childbirth. Both sides request a recess.

Verse 104

Exhibit C: sunsets. The prosecution objects that beauty is being used to prejudice the jury.

Verse 105

Exhibit D: cancer. The defense has no joke prepared.

Verse 106

The Court notes that indifference and innocence are not the same thing.

Verse 107

The Court further notes that blaming the stage does not identify the playwright.

Verse 108

Earth is acquitted of authorship and convicted of participation.

Verse 109

Sentence: she must carry every victim, murderer, witness and judge until each is returned to evidence.

Verse 110

The inhabitants appeal. The ground remains in session.
