Verses

We who breathe by machinery agree that no person shall own the air required by another to live.

Water shall be counted carefully and shared before it is sold.

No governor may hide a pressure failure, radiation warning, crop disease, or other fact merely because truth is politically inconvenient.

The habitat wall belongs equally to those sleeping on either side of it.

Disputes over land shall remember that the entire settlement fits inside a valley on a planet larger than every argument.

No child shall inherit a debt for the cost of having been born off Earth.

Those who maintain pumps, seals, farms, reactors, and clinics shall be honored before those who merely give speeches about pioneers.

We reserve the right to become unlike Earth without pretending we were never from Earth.

No flag planted here grants ownership of the horizon.

Our first law is survival. Our second is that survival alone is not enough.
