Verse 97
The finger is not the Moon, but cutting off the finger does not reveal the Moon.
The finger is not the Moon, but cutting off the finger does not reveal the Moon.
The teaching is a raft; lunar light is also a raft; even clarity must eventually be left on the shore.
See the Moon in the river: appearing completely, possessing no wetness.
See the river break the Moon: nothing above is injured.
Mind is like this when it stops suing appearances for permanence.
The full Moon lacks nothing. The crescent lacks nothing. Lack is added by comparison.
Do not seek emptiness as a dark room behind things. It is the freedom of things to arise without owning themselves.
When the last reflection vanishes, do not congratulate the sky.
Walk on.
