Let ṛta be not a command from above but the quiet fitting of things to what they are.
The ocean does not become truthful by speaking. It reveals the weight of every vessel placed upon it.
We confess not because heaven is easily offended, but because division inside the mind is a poor country to inhabit.
Loosen the knot made by the mouth when the heart already knows.
Let the hidden spring rise without boasting that it created thirst.
The sun is reflected in a thousand wells and is not divided among them.
So awareness appears in creatures without becoming a thousand awarenesses.
May the deep teach vastness without teaching vagueness.
May compassion flow without drowning discernment.
May every oath return first to the one who speaks it.
And when names sink, let what is true require no name to remain.
