They accuse Father Kronos of eating his children, as though time has ever done anything else.

Verse 79

The young call succession justice because they imagine the throne has their measurements.

Verse 80

Uranus was cut down, Kronos was chained, Zeus will also learn the appetite of grandchildren.

Verse 81

I serve no king who promises eternity. Eternity is the first lie kings tell after the coronation.

Verse 82

Bring me the cradle and the crown. I will show you two containers for the same panic.

Verse 83

The child says, I will be different. The father hears the oldest prophecy.

Verse 84

A demon understands lineage: every heir is a polite assassin waiting for the calendar.

Verse 85

Do not pity the swallowed gods. They emerged later with excellent publicity.

Kronos failed not because he was cruel, but because he tried to digest the future whole.

Chew slowly, old king. History is tough meat.
