Verse 9

A man built a wall to keep his cat in the garden.

Verse 10

The cat regarded the wall as a height suggestion.

Verse 11

The man raised it. The cat discovered the tree.

Verse 12

The man cut the branch. The cat discovered the shed.

Verse 13

The man moved the shed. The cat discovered emotional manipulation and stared at him through the window.

Verse 14

At last the man said, Why do you resist every boundary?

Verse 15

The cat said nothing because cats are careful not to weaken their legal position.

Verse 16

That night the man dreamed of Ouranos pressing his children beneath the Earth.

Verse 17

In the dream Cronus carried a sickle. The man woke and reconsidered his fencing strategy.

Verse 18

He opened the gate.

Verse 19

The cat remained in the garden all morning.

Verse 20

Thus the man learned the humiliating difference between confinement and preference.

Verse 21

At noon the cat left anyway.

Verse 22

Thus the man learned the rest.
